Angela Hackworth-Wilson, Ph.D. serves as the Pastor for Testimonial Cathedral, C.O.G.I.C. and Case Manager at the Testimonial Love Center Outreach (Homeless Shelter) for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. She is the author of the memoir When the Vow Breaks and facilitator & organizer of the annual “When the Vow Breaks” conference that benefits homeless men and women. 

She is a creative, dedicated and valiant woman of God who has committed her talents to spreading the good news of the Gospel through the arts. Since the age of thirteen, Pastor, Dr. Hackworth-Wilson has written plays for her community exploring emotional, social, and spiritual issues through drama and music. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in Humanities & Drama with a minor in Cinema Television. She has performed back-ground vocals for the late Michael Jackson, as well as Yolanda Adams and the rock group Poison. While serving as Principal of the Testimonial Christian School, Pastor, Dr. Hackworth-Wilson earned her Masters & Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University, publishing her dissertation exploring the role of the Christian church in the lives of foster children: The Long Term Effects of Foster Care on Adult Social Relationships. Pastor, Dr. Hackworth-Wilson enjoys being a wife, mother and grandmother of seven.

On the first Sunday of November 2020 Bishop J.Bernard Hackworth appointed Angela his eldest daughter to become Pastor of Testimonial Cathedral Church Of God in Christ, this is the first time this has happened in our jurisdiction. Bishop Hackworth was the Pastor for 56 years and now he leaves his shining legacy to his daughter Angela. The attendees included Pastor Sonya Dawson of the New Mount Calvary baptist Church who succeeded her father 10 years ago, Our jurisdiction Supervisor Mother Betty Gray-Fort, and our General Secretary of MEJ Superintendent Logan WestBrooks.

She gives special thanks to her father, Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth and stepmother, First Lady Bonita Hackworth; her husband, Elder Vincent Wilson; her three sisters; and her two children for their love, patience and support. She honors the memory of her mother, Alta Mae Hackworth through the victorious life that she now lives.
