Angela Hackworth
Writer, Director & Founder of S.H.O.E.S
Angela Hackworth is an ambitious, creative, dedicated and strong young woman. She has committed her life and talents to spreading the gospel through the art of writing.
Born in South Bend, Indiana, Angela came to California at an early age. At the age of thirteen, she began writing plays and directing the church choir under the leadership and direction of her father, Bishop J.B. Hackworth.
In 1978, Angela formed her acting group, Actors for Christ, which is now known as the S.H.O.E.S. Theatrical Group. Many began to recognize her talents early on. One of her favorite plays that she wrote, The Destroyers, gained attention from the late grammy award winning gospel artist, Rev. James Cleveland. He was impressed with her work and presented the play in a major production.
After graduating from Inglewood High School, she went on to pursue her education to enhance her creativity in the Arts. Majoring in Theater, Angela attended the University of Southern California, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities Drama, and a minor in Cinema Television. Answering a higher calling, she received her M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration and is currently enrolled in the Doctorate Program at Pepperdine University. Not only is Angela brilliant in writing, she can sing and act also!
